Ex Training (IEC, EN, NEC)
People who work with electrical equipment (Ex equipment) for hazardous areas shall possess the relevant technical knowledge, skills, and competencies suitably for their duties to prevent fire and explosion incidents. They also are required to refresh or update their knowledge periodically following the current applicable standards. The knowledge part can be gained from reading books or applicable standards yourself or maybe attending the suitable training courses conducted by the experienced and qualified trainers. The latter could be helpful to get the right direction quicker and also to update knowledge easier than self-searching, especially when there are a lot of things to handle, and also for good experience sharing with all participants.
JTEx has direct experience in delivering the knowledge of ATEX/ IECEx Explosion Protection. Our trainers have over 20 years of work experience and coaching in this field. We have training courses that cover the fundamentals to advanced knowledge, and also for technical operatives to electrical design engineers. Our courses contain the latest and up-to-date information regarding IEC, EN, or NEC standards and codes. We open classes for either public training, in-house, or bespoke training at client places. Our training materials are provided in English, however, the classes can be conducted in either Thai language or English language.

Training Courses
This training is fundamental knowledge which is suitable for people with no prior knowledge of the hazardous area or Ex equipment. The course content covers regulations relevant for hazardous areas, general properties of flammable and combustible materials, fire and explosion, explosion prevention and protection, hazardous area classification overview, ignition sources, explosion protection techniques and Ex equipment, applicable IEC & EN standards, basic information of ATEX & IECEx, Ex equipment certifications, nameplate marking, knowledge skills and competencies of personnel.
This training is designed for those who are involved in the selection, installation, inspection, and maintenance of electrical equipment intended for use in hazardous areas. The content is based on ATEX/ IECEx certified equipment and IEC 60079-14 requirements. It is good for learners who have the knowledge and hands-on practice in electrical installations, wiring, and cable glanding. However, any learners who do not have this experience will also get benefit from this training. There are two options; a 3-days class for only theory training and a 4-days class cover for both theory and practice the wiring, cable glanding & inspection of the equipment installations.
This course is suitable for new manufacturers of Ex equipment who are looking to apply for ATEX or IECEx certifications. The course content covers the basic knowledge of flammable materials, hazardous area classification overview, group & temperature class, explosion protection techniques, Ex equipment, ATEX categories, and IECEx EPL, the certification process for ATEX Directive 2014/34/EC and IECEx scheme 02, QAN and QAR quality system, technical document preparation, etc.
This course is suitable for those who work with hazardous (classified) locations following NFPA 70 or NEC Article 500. The content cover for fundamental of HazLoc, selection, installation, and wiring, inspection, and maintenance of electrical equipment for use in the Class and Division locations.
